The Summer Movie Season not only brings some of the popcorn blockbuster movies but also brings us some of the best trailers/teasers as well. This week has been no different. The last post I made showed the first trailer for the Sherlock Holmes sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. A trailer broke out yesterday night for the new Steven Soderbergh outbreak movie called Contagion (http://youtu.be/4sYSyuuLk5g).

Today however two trailers came out for movies that are not only anticipated but also look pretty good. However, to the dismay of some (maybe) both are remakes of classic movies. First is the remake of John Carter from Mars movie John Carter yes they just dropped from Mars (http://youtu.be/6Rf55GTEZ_E), also should be interesting to note the movie is done by Disney and Pixar director Andrew Stanton (Wall-E and Finding Nemo). The second, the remake of John Carpenters The Thing called well The Thing starring the lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead and rising star Joel Edgerton (http://youtu.be/Txjm94GnrPA)

Also with The Dark Knight Rises trailer coming out soon and the reboot of the Spiderman movie The Amazing Spiderman out next week, it’s going to be interesting summer and year. So what was your favorite trailer and which one are you looking forward to?

So the moment that some of us have waited for has finally come (or at least last night Thursday). The trailer for the upcoming Marvel based superheroes has made the rounds online and has been put in the guillotine by its fans but some have praised it. I am in the praising category, I loved the trailer and look forward to it when it comes out, with a pretty good cast and a great director like Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, Layer Cake) I can not wait for this movie.

Check out the trailer:

What do you think? like or dislike?

It is the day after the Superbowl and some of us are recovering from hangovers, massive amounts of food or their team losing. However, others are looking online to watch our favorite Superbowl ads and OTHERS are looking for the badass movie trailers. This year was no different and gave us a glimpse of anticipated movies this year.

Priest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imgWTv09B2Q

-nothing real new here since most of spot was things we’ve seen already. I’m excited for Priest but this tv spot did do a good job of getting excited. Reason? the song…I hated the use of the song and just makes it seems like some corny.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: (longer on-line version) http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/02/06/pirates-of-the-caribbean-on-stranger-tides-extended-super-bowl-spot

-I fell very meh about this movie. I felt Pirates 3 was okay and this one seems and looks okay at best to me.

Super 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9pZmxPzC1A

-I originally disliked J.J Abrams but I have grown a love for JJ over that last couple of years and I can not wait for Super 8. J.J is only a handful of directors to keep their movies a secret from the world (i.e Christopher Nolan). Super 8 is based in the early 80′s and is a monster/alien movie which I’m glad are making a comeback in Hollywood and with the Spielberg touch this movie is going to be awesome. Of course the fact that J.J never shows really anything in his movies is no surprise here

Battle LA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9bFFysX4zI

-I can not wait for this movie. With the disappointment that was Skyline this movie looks like a combination of Gears of War and what would probably happen if Aliens did come and KILL US ALL!!. Anyway, the trailers for Battle LA are amazing and the cast is great so definitely going to see this.

Cowboys and Aliens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZjR78x4pgs

-James Bond, Indiana Jones, Olivia Wilde, the wild west, aliens, Jon Favreau, Olivia Wilde…I mean come on. In all seriousness though, the movie does look pretty cool and it isn’t everyday we see an alien western.

Fast Five: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icZRROply_4

-This fifth installment of the Fast and Furious series looks like it’s going to get alot bigger. This one takes place outside the states and has the returning cast of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker and newcomer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Justin Lin has taken the series into a new direction since he directed Tokyo Drift. If the movie is anything like the teaser and the trailer, this one is going to be a fun movie.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPRv4Out7X8

-My feelings for Michael Bay are not a secret to anyone who asks me. Now will I go and see it? maybe just cause it was filmed here in Chicago but other than that I’m not really excited for it. Now did I like the teaser? Sure, it did what it was suppose to..tease us and not show much besides what Transformers blowing shit up. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the first movie but the second movie was well not so good in my opinion.

Thor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2i1EzQyL324

-Nothing really new here either expect it shows a couple of new snippets of the second to last movie to hype up The Avengers in 2012. I can’t wait for Thor and to see how they put everything together.

Captain America: The First Avenger:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jX-dpQAginE

-I LOVED this trailer, despite what negative fanboys say. This was meant to be the ultimate teaser and that’s what it did. Despite my feelings for the director, I will go see this movie because it’s Captain America and the last movie before the Avengers assemble on the big screen. Glimpse of Red Skull, Cap’s shield and suit in use, and explosions now come on who doesn’t like that.

So what was YOUR favorite trailer or Superbowl ad in general.
