There are always movies that make you tell yourself “Why in the hell did I sit through that crap” or “man I can’t believe I paid/illegal download to see that.” Well I myself have asked those questions but that’s part of being a moviegoer, you have to tough it out to help keep people away from movies like these. Now of course this list in my worst movies of the year 2010 (all my opinion of course). Keep in mind I have not seen ALL of the movie of 2010 (I do have some type of life) and I’m only counting the ones that I have seen myself so without further ado, I give you my worst movie of the year.
order doesn’t really matter here since they all sucked:
1) The Defiled: This is actually one that I saw at a film festival but it was soo bad I had to add it to the list. I actually saw people leave and for the first time was jealous of people walking out cause I sat there. The movie was a “zombie” movie but with no real sense of danger, action, or even dialogue (which sometimes I okay with) this movie has to be one of the worst zombies movie I’ve seen.
2) Valhalla Rising: This movie believe it or not is the first movie I EVER walked out of and I saw Street Fighter Legend of Chun Li. This movie had its peaks, it had Mads Mikkelsen and was directed by the guy who made Bronson. However, the movie didn’t work as it had very little diaguor and had no sense it where it was going at all.
3) Skyline: It what looked to be like a decent movie and had the War of the Worlds concept going (not Independence Day like ALOT of people were saying) the movie turned out to be a very bad movie that might have been for youtube or even SyFy Channel. Couple ways you know the movie wasn’t going to be good 1) you had the director of Aliens vs Predator: Requiem aka the darkest movie you will ever see and 2) you have Eric Balfour as your lead (nothing against him but I don’t see lead role in him)
4) Human Centipede: in what was said to be the darkest, most grotesque horror movie ever made it turned out to be boring and at times annoying. This movie was nothing like I read which sometimes is a good thing but not this time. Know what sucks more? there making another one.
5) Piranha 3D: don’t get me wrong I like when director try to pay homage to old 80′s movies even horror but unfortunately I did not catch it here. The movie really did not have lead character and if did you wouldn’t know since there was no real character development for all the characters. Oh and filmmakers if you are going to make a movie where most of the killing takes place under water at least make us actually see what is going on and not make us squint our eyes to try to see what is going on. Sad fact…another one is on the way.
6) A Nightmare on Elm St.: that’s right I put it on here, no surprise right? I mean you take a horror movie that was arguably the horror movie that changed horror and a movie that’s on most people’s best horror movie of all time. What’s worse is you change what made the movie great and have Micheal Bay produce it (sorry Bay fans). I didn’t mind the change of the famous Freddy Kruger since we all knew it was bound to happen and Haley did a decent job as the new Springwood Slasher but overall the movie was pretty damn bad and boring.
7) Last Airbender: If I had to choose one movie to be on the top worst movie list of 2010 it would be this one. M. Night what happen? You were soo good and you just went downhill. I mean most people go up hill or stay at a constant line but you my friend just died. M.Night has yet again grace his presents on my worst movie of the year with his boring, no reason to have that much of a close up, do a whole damn ballet to do a gust of wind or fire adaptation of a popular cartoon series. While some people blame the casting, I blame Night, I mean he wrote the damn thing, they were doing there jobs which just so happen to be they read a shitty script.
So this ends my worst movie of the year list. Hopefully some of you did not sit through these awful movie this year or ever really but I stress again these are MY worst movie of the year and in no way should try to change your views of these movie if YOU liked them.
